SSL Installation Instructions.
Once your SSL certificate has been signed and issued, we will send you an email message that allows you to download the signed certificate and our intermediate certificates, all of which must be installed on your website.
The specific installation procedure is determined by your choice of Web server software. Installation instructions are available for the servers listed below.
Downloading an SSL Certificate.
After your certificate request is approved, you can download your primary and intermediate certificate from within the SSL application.
To Download your Certificate
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, select SSL Certificates.
- Next to the certificate you want to manage, click Manage Certificate.
- From the Filters list, click Certificates and then click the common name for the certificate you want to download.
- Click Download.
- From the Server type field, select the server on which you're installing the certificate.
- Click Download Certificate and specify a location to save the file.
- Click Close.

NOTE: If you are moving your SSL certificate to a new server, if your server has crashed, if you have lost your private key, or receive an error message that the private key does not match you re-key your certificate. See Re-keying an SSL Certificate for more information.
Re-Keying an SSL Certificate.
Re-keying is the process of replacing an existing SSL certificate. If you are moving your SSL certificate to a new server, if your server has crashed, or if you have lost your private key, you want to re-key your SSL certificate.
To Re-key an SSL Certificate.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, select SSL Certificates.
- Next to the certificate you want to manage, click Manage Certificate.
- From the Filters list, click Certificates and then click the common name for the certificate you want to re-key.
- Copy the certificate details shown on the screen and use that exact data when creating a new CSR. Exact capitalization, punctuation and spacing are required. For Standard (Medium Assurance) certificates the CSR details for City, State and Country are not critical.
- Generate a new CSR. If you need help, use our CSR Generation Instructions.
- After the new CSR is generated, return to the Secure Certificate Manager. From the screen where you copied your certificate details, click Re-Key.
- Paste your server-generated CSR in the CSR field and click Re-Key.
- Specify your server type and click the link to download the re-keyed certificate.
- If you need a copy of the intermediate certificate, click Repository in the upper-right corner.
- Install the re-keyed certificate on your Web server. If you need help, see the SSL Installation Instructions.
