Generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) - Parallels Plesk Panel

Follow the instructions below to generate a CSR for your website. After generating your CSR, cut/copy and paste it into the CSR field on the SSL certificate-request page.

To Generate and Submit the Certificate Signing Request (CSR)

  • 1. Log in to Parallels Plesk Panel; then select Domains from the left-hand menu.
  • 2. Click the domain name that you want to generate the CSR for.
  • 3. Click Certificates in the Services Group.
  • 4. Click Add New Certificate.
  • 5. Specify a certificate name.
  • 6. Select the Bit size from the drop-down list. "2048" is required.
  • 7. Select a Country from the drop-down list.
  • 8. Specify the State or province. This of the state or province where your organization is located. Please enter the full name. Do not abbreviate.
  • 9. Location (city). Enter the name of the city in which your organization is registered/located. Please spell out the name of the city. Do not abbreviate.
  • 10. Enter the Organization name (company). The Organization name is the name under which your business is legally registered. The listed organization must be the legal registrant of the domain name in the certificate request. If you are enrolling as an individual, please enter the certificate requestor's name in the Organization field, and the DBA (doing business as) name in the Department field.
  • 11. Enter the Organization department/division name in the fields provided.
  • 12. Enter the Domain name for which you want to generate the certificate signing request.
  • 13. Enter the E-mail your email address.

NOTE: Parallels Plesk Panel 8 and above allows the use of Wildcard certificate use. If you have purchased a Multi-domain (wildcard) certificate credit, please add an asterisk (*) on the left side of the Common Name (e.g., "*.coolexample.com" or "www*.coolexample.com"). This secures all subdomains of the Common Name.

  • 14. Click the Request button to generate a certificate signing request and add it to the repository.
  • 15 Return to the Certificates page from the list at the bottom of the page.
  • 16 Click the certificate name that you just created. Copy the content of the CSR box.
  • 17 Paste the CSR into our online enrollment form to start the processing of your certificate request.
